Overall employability of Engineering Graduates in India is dropping every year despite many programs. The statistics for 2015 show the respective figures at 17.91% for Services and 3.67% for Products! This is the reality for most Engineering Students today, which has led to many companies not even attempting to recruit Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) due to the high cost of recruitment coupled with equally high possibility of failures. Clearly, a good percentage of students passing out of Engineering Colleges are not “Ready for Work”. What does this mean?
72.77% lack soft skills and 59.40% lack cognitive skills.Cognition is the umbrella term for your learning skills—your ability to process information, reason, remember, and relate. You are taught something, some new info. You think about it. Soft skills is a term often associated with a person's "EQ" (emotional intelligence quotient), which is the cluster of personality traits that characterize one's relationships with other people. These skills can include social graces, communication abilities, language skills, personal habits, cognitive or emotional empathy, and leadership traits.
About 60% of engineers lose out because they do not have requisite domain knowledge.Domain knowledge is knowledge about the environment in which the target system operates. It may include user workflows, data pipelines, business policies, configurations and constraints and is crucial in the development of a product or software application
EmergWay after considerable research with both Colleges and Companies that want to hire GETs, has come up with it’s flagship program – “Creating the Industry Ready Engineer”!
